Compress an image online
Strip metadata and apply a quality profile to JPEG, PNG or WEBP. Success is a valid image in the same format, not a fixed savings percentage.

How it works
- Select the image Choose a JPEG, PNG or WEBP. The type is detected from the file contents.
- Process the image Submit the job and wait for processing to finish.
- Download the result Download the image in the same format while temporary retention lasts.
Compressing an image helps send it by mail or upload it to a form with a megabyte cap. ToolZen accepts JPEG, PNG and WEBP. The type is detected from the bytes, not the extension. A PDF, a GIF or a TIFF does not pass, even if you renamed it.
Metadata is stripped and, on JPEG and WEBP, a configurable quality factor is applied. On PNG we do not promise the same kind of savings: sometimes the file barely changes. The result keeps the input format. We do not convert PNG to JPG “so it weighs less” unless you ask, and this version does not offer that option.
There is a 25 MB size maximum and a maximum processing time. Only files uploaded from your device are accepted. The input file is deleted when processing finishes, whether it failed or not.
We do not publish a reduction percentage. A camera photo usually slims down; an already compressed icon PNG may come out just as heavy. The success criterion is an image that opens, with bytes, in the expected format. If the file is truncated or malformed, the job fails in a controlled way.
Use cases: lighten a screenshot for a ticket, lower the weight of a product WEBP, or prepare a JPG for a CV. If you need text from the image, use image to text. If the image is a PDF page, convert first with PDF to JPG and then compress the JPEG if needed, respecting each tool’s limits.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats are accepted?
JPEG, PNG and WEBP. GIF, TIFF, HEIC, BMP and a PDF disguised as an image are not accepted.
How much does the file shrink?
It depends on the image. A noisy photo often slims down; an already optimized PNG may barely change. We do not publish a guaranteed percentage.
Is PNG converted to JPG?
No. The result keeps the input format.
Can I compress several images at once?
No. This tool processes one image per job.
Are PDFs or other unusual formats accepted?
No. Only valid JPEG, PNG and WEBP are accepted.
