Files are processed to complete the job. The guest result is kept for 30 minutes. They are not sold. They are not deleted “on the spot” if the TTL has not expired yet.

ToolZen is a file-tool service with no user accounts. There is no registration, sign-in or “my documents” panel.

What we process. The file you upload is used only to run the tool you asked for (merge or split PDF, compress PDF, Word to PDF, PDF to JPG, compress image or OCR). We do not sell files. We do not publish them in a directory. We do not use them to train AI models.

Real lifecycle. Input bytes are stored as temporary job artifacts. When processing finishes (success or failure), those input bytes are deleted. The result is stored so you can download it. Guest result retention is 30 minutes from job creation, not from the download click. After that, the download stops working and a scheduled process deletes expired artifacts. We do not promise instant deletion at the moment you click.

Download. It is not a public URL to disk. It goes through a grant tied to the job. Status routes (/jobs/...) and download routes (/d/...) are not indexed.

Data that is not the file. We store job metadata: identifier, tool, status, timestamps, an IP hash for abuse (not the raw IP) and, if the job fails, a public code. Application logs may include request_id, job_id and the internal exception. We do not store PDF contents or the original filename as analytics.

Statistics. Each day we aggregate counts per tool (accepted, succeeded, failed). Totals, not people profiles.

Cookies. See the cookies page. There are session and CSRF cookies. The site may load the Google AdSense script for review. Visible ads, if the operator enables them, only appear on tool pages; then a consent cookie and Google cookies may exist. There is no first-party analytics. The file is not sent to the ads network.

Third parties. Processing runs in our containers (Postgres, Redis, binaries such as qpdf, Ghostscript, LibreOffice, Poppler, ImageMagick and Tesseract). We do not send your file to a third-party conversion API.
