Convert PDF to Word
Turn a PDF into a Word document (.docx). The result is a usable approximation, not a certified facsimile. Native text usually does better; scans and complex layouts can lose formatting.

How it works
- Select a PDF One file. The type is checked from the content. Encrypted or damaged PDFs are rejected or fail.
- Process the PDF Submit the job and wait for conversion to finish.
- Download the Word A temporary .docx. Check tables, columns and images: they may not match the PDF.
Converting PDF to Word is for when you need to edit text that arrived as a PDF, not when you want a certified facsimile. The result is a .docx. Layout can vary: we do not advertise a visual clone or a document ready to sign without review.
PDFs with selectable text usually come out better. A scan is an image: this tool does not do OCR. If what you want is to read a scan’s content, rasterize to JPG and then use image to text, knowing OCR also has limits. Tables, columns, footers, text boxes and charts can shift, split or become different objects.
Published limits: PDF size, maximum page count, maximum processing time and maximum DOCX size. An encrypted, corrupt or non-PDF file is rejected or fails.
You upload the file, check the status, download the result and it expires with guest retention. The input PDF is deleted when it finishes. We do not send the file to an online converter.
Realistic uses: recover paragraphs from a PDF report to copy into another document, or get an editable base from a simple form. Do not use this page for a contract that must keep visual signatures, exact legal numbering or a magazine layout. For the reverse path, Word to PDF. For images per page, PDF to JPG.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Word match the PDF?
No. Conversion produces an approximation. Tables, columns and images may shift. It is not a certified reconstruction of the original.
Does it work with a scanned PDF?
Poorly or not at all. A scan is an image. This tool does not do OCR. Convert pages to JPG and then to text if what you want is to read the content.
Is there a page limit?
Yes, the limit published on this page. A longer PDF is rejected before processing.
How long can it take on long PDFs?
It depends on PDF size. Very large documents may hit the maximum processing time published on this page.
Is the PDF sent to a cloud converter?
No. Processing happens on ToolZen. The input PDF is deleted when it finishes; the DOCX expires with guest retention.
